Inspection Standards for FRP Pultruded Profiles

I. Visual Inspection

1. The surface must be smooth and flat, with no defects. It should be free of bubbles, cracks, delamination, and uneven color.

2. The cross-section should be neat, without exposed fibers or incomplete resin curing.

3. There should be no burrs or flash, and the chamfered corners should have a smooth transition.

II. Dimension Inspection

1. The length, width, and thickness should meet the design requirements.

2. The straightness should follow the requirements without any bending or twisting.

3. The end faces should be perpendicular, without any inclination.

III. Strength Inspection

1. It should have certain tensile strength, compressive strength, and bending strength.

2. Perform tensile, compressive, and bending tests to relevant standards. This will determine the strength indicators.

3. During the test, the profile should not have any fractures, delamination, or deformation.

IV. Chemical Composition Inspection

1. Conduct chemical analysis to determine the content of each component.

2. Control the content of each component. It must meet the specified range and relevant standards.

V. Weather Resistance Inspection

1. Expose the FRP pultruded profile to sunlight, humidity, and temperature. Then, check its aging condition.

2. The FRP pultruded profile should not show bubbles, cracks, or peeling during exposure.

3. Test the mechanical properties of the FRP pultruded profile. This should happen after checking for weather resistance. Make sure it meets the relevant standards.

VI. Insulation Performance Inspection

1. Test the insulation resistance of the FRP pultruded profile. This will check its insulation performance.

2. During the test, the FRP pultruded profile should not have any breakdown or arcing.

3. Test the FRP pultruded profile’s electrical properties after the insulation test. They must meet the relevant standards.

VII. Bending Performance Inspection

1. Conduct bending tests to observe the bending deformation.

2. After the bending angle and times, the profile must have no cracks or delamination.

3. Test the mechanical properties of the FRP pultruded profile after the bending test. It should meet the relevant standards.

VIII. Environmental Performance Inspection

1. Conduct environmental performance tests, such as formaldehyde content and volatile organic compound content.

2. Control the environmental performance of the FRP pultruded profile. Do this according to relevant standards.
