The pultruded fiberglass grating is a composite of fiberglass reinforcement and thermosetting resin systems made by pultrusion processes. This pultrusion process produces a variety of unique properties for the product. The bearing rod provides excellent corrosion resistance and strength through the use of multidirectional (glass mat) and longitudinal (glass roving) reinforcements and synthetic surface yarns.
The continuous glass roving has a thick filler core that imparts longitudinal strength and stiffness to the bar, while the continuous glass mat provides lateral strength and eliminates cracks, chippings and linear breaks. Synthetic yarn provides a complete, pure resin surface with additional UV protection and corrosion resistance.
